Description: |
Six-year and five-month old Southern Pacific B30-7 7823 soaks up some sun at the railroads West Colton Yard in Bloomington, California, on September 5th, 1984. Built by General Electric, these 3000 horsepower diesels featured the usual SP appliances, such as the nose-mounted headlight, cab mounted Gyralight, roof-mounted unintended emergency light (a red Gyralight commonly called a "big hole light") and bell, as well as the distinctive FT-B trucks that were standard on these four-axle GEs. |
