In 1973, when General Motors Electro-Motive Division was inundated with orders for SD40-2s for just about every railroad, twenty SD40-2s were built for Missouri Pacific. Lucky number 13 was MP 807, which the railroad later renumbered 3107. When the UP acquired the MoPac in 1982, MP 3107 became UP 4107. As the UP continued to acquire new locomotive (as well as merge with even more railroads), UP 4107 became surplus and was one of 19 oof this order of SD40-2s sold to Canadian National, which renumbered it CN 6107. Following a rebuild in the mid-1990s, CN 6107 was renumbered CN 5366. By this point, there are nine of the engines from this particular MP order still in service on the CN. Note the shiny new air conditioner on the side of the nose of 5366 as it sits in the railway’s Kirk Yard.
