AMTK 948
Awaiting its departure time at Washington DCs Union Station, Amtrak AEM-7AC 948 is in charge of one of the carriers many, many Northeast Regional trains, which connect population centers all along the eastern seaboard. Buit as an AEM-7 in 1988, and converted to AC power in July 2001, motor 948 is nearling the end of its service life as Amtraks 900s are replaced with newer Siemens-built 600-class ACS-64 locomotives. (Photographed on railroad property with permission and full PPE.)

Dave Korhammer General Nice shot! ('Gotta admit: it's weird to think of the "loaf-of-breads" as veterans about to be retired!) :) 2/4/2015 6:15:13 PM
