ATSF 133 |
Description: |
Decked out in Bicentennial colors for use in the short train operated from Richmond, California, to Richmond, Virginia, in 1972, is Santa Fe steam generator car 133. This car was built using ATSF baggage car 3922 (Pullman-Standard) as a starting point. Photographed in Barstow, California, on November 15, 1972, this train consisted of Seaboard Coast Line U36B 1776, ATSF 133, ATSF display car 87 and Frisco caboose 1776. The cars were all painted to match the SCL's engine, which had the distinction of being the first of many, many pieces of railroad equipment painted for the American Bicentennial. |
