GMTX 2623
Title:  GMTX 2623
Description:  Wandering the grounds of Metro East Industries, Incorporated, in Alorton, Illinois, is like browsing in a well-stocked hobby shop - Following every turn one discovers locomotives painted for yet another railroad or leasing company! At the southern end of a typically eclectic string of diesels is GMTX GP38-2 2623. This EMD product started out as Penn Central GP38 7932, later becoming part of the Conrail roster (as CR 7932) upon that railroads formation in 1976. When CRs assets were divided among Norfolk Southern and CSX, this GP38 became CSXT 1994. (Other power visible includes locomotives from former NJ Transit [now MVPX], Helm Leasing and CEFX.) [Taken on private property with permission and full PPE.]
