WAMX 3510 |
Description: |
One of the plant switchers at the Riverside Cement plant in Oro Grande, California, is Webb Asset Management (WAMX) GP35 3510. Built by EMD in April 1965 as Western Pacific 3014, it was later part of Union Pacifics roster (as their 793). UP sold it to Eastern Idaho Railroad, where it retained the UP number (793). EIRR sold it to WAMX, and it eventually found its way to the desert of southern California, as seen here. |

Description: |
A Kansas City Terminal train returns to the railroad's Mill Street Yard in Kansas City, Kansas, after spending the day dropping cars off at various industries. The Kansas City, Missouri, skyline looms in the background, and to the right of the lead engine is the double-deck bridge that this train just traversed (on the bottom deck) to cross the Kansas River. The power for today's train is GP20 WAMX 2005 (ex-TPW 2005, ex-ATSF 3073, ex-ATSF 3173, nee-ATSF 1173) and GP35 WAMX 3855 (ex-QSR 501, ex-SP 6300, ex-SP 6553, nee-SP 7441). |
