Title:  ATSF 5307 - San Bernardino, CA - 8/29/81
Description:  Just released from the paint booth in San Bernardino's Diesel Shops, Santa Fe SD45 5307 and SD40 5005 await an eastbound to ferry them to Barstow and their reintroduction to the power pool. Each of these two locomotives has received new sheet metal awnings and fins behind their cabs to redirect air flow.

Description:  A solid set of Kodachrome-painted diesels (SD45, FP45, F45, SD40-2) are on the headend of a solid train of USMC tanks. The train originated at Camp Pendleton, in northern San Diego County. The train is seen here crossing the Santa Ana River at the eastern end of Santa Ana Canyon as it heads east in July 1986.

Title:  ATSF 5394 - Kaiser, Fontana, CA - 11/9/85
Description:  Santa Fe SD45 5394 was the first ATSF unit to wear the colors of the proposed Southern Pacific Santa Fe merger. The unit originally had white SF initials on the hood and nose, but they were later changed to yellow. There were also originally four stripes on the sides of the nose, and the red/black color break on the hood was also originally lower before being repainted to match the rest of the fleet (the red over the black on the hood is still visible). This engine began life as ATSF 5597.
