SP 3756
Title:  SP 3756
Description:  SP GP9 3756 and Cotton Belt GP35 6650 are on the head-end of a West Colton to Los Angeles local as it rounds the balloon track to reverse direction after departing West Colton Yard in Bloomington, California, on March 25, 1978. SP 3834
Title:  SP 3834
Description:  In 1982, Los Angeles experimented with commuter trains between downtown and Oxnard, in nearby Ventura County. Is was underfunded and poorly executed and, with average daily ridership of just 130 commuters per day, lasted only five months. On the evening of December 2, 1982, train #101 (Los Angeles to Oxnard) departs Union Station with leased Cal Train equipment - SP GP9R 3834 (ex-SP 3707, nee-SP 5844) with a full light package, and a pair of ex-SP gallery coaches (the second in full Cal Train colors). In 1992, a vastly improved commuter system, Metrolink, began service, which continues to this day.

SP 3850
Title:  SP 3850
Description:  Rumbling through Pomona, California, on Ocho de Mayo 1987, a typically ecclectic Southern Pacific lash-up leads a hauler on its way to the West Colton Yard. GP9R 3850 (ex-SP GP9 3679, nee-SP 5816) leads another GP9R, an SDP45 and a B30-7 east under "May Gray" skies ... That Gyralight really cut through the haze!
