UP 1943
Title:  UP 1943
Description:  Union Pacific SD70ACe 1943, the railroads newest specially-painted locomotive, hustles through Cabazon, California, just minutes after the sun dropped behind the San Jacinto Mountains on November 18, 2017. The train was delayed roughly a half-hour due to some cretins not only placing debris on the tracks near Indio, but they were also seen pointing a rifle at a passing freight - so all rail traffic was halted until the area was deemed safe again. This six-car passenger special originated in Council Bluffs IA and was heading to Oakland CA. UP 1943 is painted to commorate United States Armed Forces, with the first third honoring the Air Force, the middle third the Coast Guard and Navy, and the final third painted in camoflage for the Army and Marines.

UP 8925 - Bryman CA - 12/17/18
Title:  UP 8925 - Bryman CA - 12/17/18
Description:  Twnenty-six miles west of Barstow, California, on BNSF's Cajon Subdivision, is the old Santa Fe station of Bryman. And it is here, five miles east of Oro Grande, that a westbound Union Pacific train (UP has trackage rights on BNSF's Cajon Sub), led by SD70ACe 8925, sits on the main because of a "trespasser strike." The 2018 BNSF Railway California Division Christmas Train has crossed over to the other main in order to get around this train as it heads from Barstow to Victorville to unload a few volunteers, and then head back to San Bernardino for the night. As for the UP intermodal train, radio chatter indicated that a transient had tried to hop on one of the engines as the train was slowly moving, and wasn't successful - or seriously injured. BNSF 6570 • Orange CA • 08/05/20
Title:  BNSF 6570 • Orange CA • 08/05/20
Description:  Fresh from the Siemens AG factory in Florin, a part of Sacramento, California, are the first two SC-44 "Chargers" for San Diego County’s Coaster commuter trains. The engines were picked up at the factory by Union Pacific SD70ACe 8989 the day before, as UP train SFLWC-04 (Special, Florin to West Colton), and brought south to UP’s West Colton Yard, where it arrived this morning. This short train was then handed off to the BNSF Railway, and ES44C4 6570 was added, for the trip south to Stuart Mesa, a joint Metrolink/Coaster facility just north of Oceanside. Coaster is now operated by North County Transit District (NCTD), which recently modified its paint scheme to eliminate the white horizontal stripe and include more blue than on the older teal. white and blue scheme. BNSF train J-WCLSTZ1-05 (High/Wide Move, West Colton to Stuart Mesa) is about to get off Metrolink’s Olive Sub at CP Maple and travel on Metrolink’s Orange Sub all the way to Stuart Mesa. The two Coaster engines were being shipped under the SIIX reporting mark. (Orange, California – August 5, 2020)
