NJTR 4120 |
Description: |
As dusk settles over the East Coast, the lights have come on in Manahattan, across the Hudson River. NJ Transit F40PH-2CAT 4120 brings a train into the Hoboken Terminal in New Jersey. The tall building still under construction in the background is the 105-story One World Trade Center (also known as the Freedom Tower), being built in the northwest corner of the World Trade Center site. |

NJTR 4124 |
Description: |
Opened in 1907, NJ Transits Hoboken Terminal is a busy place with a very ecclectic mix of equipment: Commuter trains powered by diesel-electric locomotives and electric locomotives powered by overhead catenary, Hudson-Bergen light rail trolleys and the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) subway to Manhattan. Locomotives built by EMD, Alstom and Bombardier can all be found here, and many of the EMD units have been rebuilt by other companies. And, as might be expected of a terminal this busy, there is a maze of trackwork (as seen here) needed to manage all the daily train movements! |

Description: |
NJ Transit has an ecclectic roster, and at just about any time throughout the day, a wide variety of power can be found at the roads Hoboken Terminal. Here we see F40PH-2CAT 4129 (built by EMD in December 1981 as NJ Transit F40PH-2 4129) and much newer PL42-AC 4016 (built by Alstom, manufactured at the Vossloh España plant in Valencia, Spain in 2003). |
