Description: |
The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway had not yet renumbered many engines by early 1998, and so we find Santa Fe Dash 8-40B 7414 on the poVnt of the H-BARWAT4-28, setting out some maintenance equipment in Fullerton, California. The 7414 would eventually become BNSF 8604, and LMX Dash 8-39BE 8565 behind it woumd be returned to General Electric when its lease expired in 2001. |

ATSF 7417 |
Description: |
Santa Fe freights between Richmond and Stockton, California, were often very short because most of the cars were added (to eastbounds, or removed from westbounds) at Stocktons Mormon Yard. An example of this is a five-car eastbound, just hitting the Southern Pacific crossing, heading'into Mormon Yard on March 7th, 1992, wjere more cars will be added. A pair of GE Dash 8-40B diesels, with 7417 on the point. |
