Description:
The engineer on Amtrak train #21, the Texas Eagle, has just climbed out of the cab as the train is serviced at the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center. The ITC is the busiest of Texas 19 Amtrak stations, and it also serves Trinity Rail Express trains as well as buses from Greyhound and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority.

Description:
As Amtrak train #21, the Chicago IL to San Antonio TX Texas Eagle is serviced in Fort Worth, Trinity Railway Express commuter train #2923 (Union Station [Dallas] to T&P Station [Fort Worth]) accelerates out of the citys ITC (Amtrak, TRE, Greyhound and transit bus) station on October 17, 2011. TRE F59PH 126 was recently rebuilt, repainted and renumbered. Originally owned by Torontos GO Transit, the engine was later sold to TRE, where it retained its original number - 568.

Description:
Amtrak #3 is running nearly 3 hours late - it normally crosses southern California's Cajon Pass just before sunup - which gives its passengers a look at the snowfall the accumulated overnight. The "Southwest Chief" originated in Chicago, and at this point the train is 90 miles from its final destination in Los Angeles. P42DCs 164 and 48 are pulling the eight car train.

Description:
It doesn't look very snowy here, as what snow fell overnight was quickly melting (particularly on the sunny sides of the chaparral), but this 3 hour late Amtrak #3, the westbound "Southwest Chief," was giving passengers a view that they don't often get on Cajon Pass - snow! This train had just 8 cars on this day, and was approximately 100 miles from its final destination of Los Angeles. The retaining walls and trees seen behind the train are the well-known railfan "oasis" Hill 582, located at Milepost 58.2 and providing a nice spot in which to sit on a hot day, thanks to those trees.

Description:
Amtrak train 572, a Los Angeles to San Diego "Pacific Surfliner," crosses the Los Angeles River at Redondo Junction on August 18th, 2013. This train set is made up of older Amfleet coaches and a Horizon Fleet café car. This high bridge was built when the Alameda Corridor project was constructed in the early 2000s, and creates a grade separation allowing for smoother traffic flow between Amtrak and Metrolink passenger trains and the BNSF Railway and Union Pacific freights heading south to the country's busiest container ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Description:
The big news in Fullerton on Friday, December 28th, 2012, was that the westbound "Southwest Chief" was running nearly 13 hours late, and had a BNSF SD70MAC on the point. The surprise that evening, though, was just before #3 arrived, #4, the eastbound "Southwest Chief," arrived (on time!) with one of Amtraks Heritage diesels, P42DC 184, on the point.

Description:
Amtrak #4, the "Southwest Chief," loads passengers at Fullerton, California, the trains first stop after departing Los Angeles on July 27th, 2012. Lead engine 193 (a GE P42DC) is in need of a new paint job - as is the third engine, F59PHI 464. The 464, which is assigned to the "Pacific Surfliners," is heading east to Beech Grove for maintenance - all the "Pacific Surliner" power will be cycled through Beech Grove this summer. In the background, on Track 4, is Metrolink F59PH 873 on a trainset that arrived as train 643 and will depart as train 642. These trains are shuttles that operate between Fullerton and Laguna Niguel / Mission Viejo, 28 miles to the south.
