Union Pacific ES44AC 7605 was built in January 2007 and painted in builder General Electrics colorful demonstrator scheme to participate in GEs "Green Locomotive Technology Tour" in February. So it was a pleasant surprise to see this engine again nine-months later, still wearing this attractive scheme, on a set of power that has been cut off the UP intermodal train it delivered to the railroads Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) near UPs Dolores Yard. UP 7605 was teamed with a pair of EMD SD70s (4556 and 3903) along with another unique UP engine, SD40-2 3306 with large red "Operation Lifesaver" lettering upon its hood. UP 7605 had previously worn metallic green and blue for use on GEs "Green Locomotive Technology Tour" in early 2007. |
