At the north end of Union Pacific's Dolores Yard is CP Alameda, where some of the power lays over awaiting assignment. Unlike southern California's other railroad, BNSF Railway (which operates a steady stream of GE power in the area), EMD power is no stranger to the Union Pacific in the L.A. Basin. Here we see SD70M 3790 and SD90MAC 8200 resting between runs on March 29, 2011. (The UP calls these SD90MACs "SD9043AC" rather than sticking with the EMD designation.) |
