Description: |
Amtraks "Pacific Surfliners" are normally assigned 450-class F59PHI diesels, painted in "Pacific Surfliner" colors to match the cars. But on January 21, 2012, Dash 8-32BWH 509 was shoving on the rear of train #573 as it accelerated out of its stop at Fullerton, California. When first delivered in 1991 the twenty 500-class GE locomotives were regularly assigned to these trains (then called "San Diegans". In Amtraks early days, low-numbered 500-class SDP40Fs were also assigned to the "San Diegans," too. |
