Amtrak P42DC 99 is gingerly stepping around the southern leg of the wye at the summit of Miramar Hill in San Diego, with 3751 tagging along, backward, on the rear. After taking water on the east leg, the big steamer will be on the point for a short time, and then backed again to Old Town to pick up the train. Leaving San Diego, though, the might Northern will once again be in the lead, and doing most of the heavy lifting, too. |
