Having just ridden around the famed Tehachapi Loop, the passengers on Amtrak train 14, the northbound "Coast Starlight," enjoy unusual scenery for this train, which is detouring over the Tehachapi Mountains due to bridge work on its normal Coast Line route. This train, in the charge of units 131 and 151 today, has just met its southbound counterpart at Marcel, about five miles back. It is seen here crossing the bridge at the east end of Woodford on November 8, 2008. |
