Progress Rail Services PR22B 2006, which is testing on the Pacific Harbor Line, is getting serviced in the PHLs Pier A Yards enginehouse on September 11, 2011. This four-axle GenSet demonstrator has three Caterpillar 745 hp C18 engines, for a total horsepower rating of 2,235 hp. Each of these engines is housed in its own compartment, which can be easily swapped for a new compartment for maintenance. There are sizable gaps between each compartment, as well as between them and the cab and the engines end, giving this engine a unique appearance. |
