Title:  SBD 8050
Description:  Seaboard System was a US Class I railroad that was created after the consolidation of the Family Lines System railroads (Louisville & Nashville, Seaboard Coast Line, Gerogia Railroad, Clinchfield Railroad and the West Point Route) on December 29, 1982. was a short-lived former US Class I railroad that was created after the consolidation of the Family Lines System railroads (notably the Louisville & Nashville and Seaboard Coast Line) on December 29, 1982. Under the Family Lines era, the railroads shared common ownership but used different names when conducting business. On July 1, 1986, the Seaboard System renamed itself as the CSX Transportation and absorbed the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad on August 31, 1987 which ended the CSX Corporations shared ownership of the Seaboard System and Chessie System railroads (Baltimore & Ohio, Chesapeake & Ohio and Western Maryland). This short-lived railroad painted quite a few engines into a simple but attractive scheme, as worn by SD40-2 8050 (the former SCL 8050) sunning itself in Richmond, Virginia, on September 3rd, 1984.
